Abortion law reform in Victoria

Written By: Tuen - Nov• 09•07

Today is the last day for submissions to the Victorian Law Reform Commission, which has been tasked to review the abortion law in Victoria.  The current state government is planning to decriminalise abortion, and has asked the Law Reform Commission for its recommendations.

The parish has been asking church members to consider making submissions and I had been sitting on it.  But I’m glad I managed to put a paper in today.  It wasn’t too difficult as the commission had put together a list of questions that they wanted responses to, so it was just a matter of going down the list and giving my views on them.  Hopefully, it will contribute to a good recommendation by the commission.  If you are interested in my submission, its here: submission-for-abortion-bill.pdf
