Broccoli Death

A few evenings ago, my clumsy son was walking in the dark through the backyard and accidentally kicked my tray of broccoli seedlings.  They’d been growing for a couple of weeks and was about ready for replanting into the main veggie bed.  He must have caused them major trauma, because two mornings ago, I discovered [...]

Wen back from Singapore

Wen and the Chong girls arrived back in Singapore today.  It’s nice to have her back, and baby was happy to see her too.  He went up to her immediately without hesitation and has been hanging out with her ever since.  Great relief for the rest of us! Now we await Melissa’s homecoming next month…

3rd Parenting Cell Meeting

We had our 3rd parenting cell meeting at the Cheongs’ place on Saturday.  It was quite a nice meeting and we had a good lunch thrown in as well.  We were provided with some live music entertainment from Sarah, Dominic and Clement, who played piano, violin and piano respectively.  Later that evening, the Chia’s came [...]

Motorbike Madness

Hooray, I passed my motorbike practical test on Friday.  But the madness occurred on Thursday.  Back in Singapore, I remembered that when I had to use a helmet supplied by the training school, it was really icky, especially if you consider Singapore’s humidity and heat.  So I started thinking about my practical on Friday and [...]

Motobike Theory Test

I went for the 4 hour theory course last evening, after which I sat for the theory test, and passed.  I had a 100 per cent actually.  Now it’s just the practical on Friday, and I’ll be able to zip along on a bike after that.  Unfortunately, I’ll have to be on a Learner’s permit [...]

Wattle Point Holiday

Download Video   On Sunday, we returned from a short holiday at a place called Wattle Point, which is in Gippsland.  We were there with the Chongs (all boys, as the girls are in Singapore) and Blaise came along as well.  We had quite a nice time there, and played Texas holdem poker and Mahjong.  [...]

2nd Anniversary

It’s exactly 2 years today since we migrated to Australia.  Time really does fly!  It seems like only yesterday when we were at the airport leaving Singapore, and all our family and friends were there bidding farewell to us.  Well we miss our family and friends, but we’ve also made a home here now, and [...]

Motorcycle Bug

I’ve been bitten by the motorcycle bug, again.  I used to have a motorcycle license back in Singapore, but I couldn’t convert it here, because my licence was restricted to under 200cc motorbikes.  For some reason, I’m getting a strong desire to ride again, so I’ve signed up to take my Learner’s permit again.  My [...]

More Harvey Norman Warranty Repair Crap

I never did post the final outcome about my computer which I had sent in for repair under warranty to Harvey Norman.  Well it finally did come back, and the electronics worked, but guess what?  The power switch was broken.  Rather than face the prospect of being without the computer for another month, we now [...]
