Father’s Day

Today is Father’s day in Australia. The first thing little Ren did upon waking up this morning was to wish me a happy father’s day. And he did this without any prompting from anyone. He then went downstairs to retrieve a paper bag (which he made himself in school) which contained gift items for me which he had bought from a school stall specially setup to sell items for father’s day. It was very sweet of him and it made my day. Of course my other kids also wished me when they woke up during the course of the day. As for their gift, I had earlier bought myself a camera backpack and I told them to just split the cost amongst themselves. They were quite happy with that of course; no need to shop for a gift for dad!
