Infrequent diary of a procrastinator

Watch “Emanate performance March 2012″ on YouTube

My two girls together with Alexius and Blaise performed at the Emanate concert last Wednesday at City Life Church. They would have looked much better if they had had time to memorize the lyrics!  Photos can be found here.

Birthday Surprise!

Written By: Tuen - Mar• 10•12

Yesterday, we sprang a surprise birthday celebration on Pat Chua. On top of that, Steve surprised her with a Volkswagen Beetle, which she apparently has always wanted; not to mention Steve and Tassia’s surprise flight to Melbourne from Singapore to surprise Pat. They have set the bar very high.

I had to surreptitiously fetch both of them from the airport, and Tony and Henry had to arrange to purchase the Beetle. All the planning and preparation took about two weeks to arrange. Unfortunately, she wasn’t too surprised with Steve and Tassia’s surprise visit, due to a few boo boos from Steve and others, but at least she was totally surprised by the Beetle. So not all the effort was wasted.

Only two photos available from me. Will have to wait for Steve for the others , which knowing him, may take quite a while to be posted. :)

Tonight we celebrated Melissa’s 23rd birthday at King Wong restaurant. The food was good, but the cake was delicious!

Singing in the rain

Wen’s choir, the Pengana voices, performed on Saturday morning at the Knox Festival. It was raining and because it was an outdoor setting, the acoustic environment was not great. Still, the girls put up a good show.

Old home

Written By: Tuen - Feb• 27•12

On one of the days in Singapore, I made a wrong turn and found ourselves near our old neighbourhood in Springside. So we decided to drive in and take a look at our old home. The home has been somewhat renovated, but it was the compactness of the whole housing estate that struck us, now that we are used to the large and sprawling surburbs in Australia. The streets were so narrow and congested that we had difficulty driving through them.

This photo was quite badly taken because the owner was in the driveway and Mary did not want him to see me taking a photo, so I had to do it surreptitiously…

Isabel’s Birthday

Written By: Tuen - Feb• 26•12

Today was Wen’s birthday. We went to Lemon Leaf Thai restaurant for lunch. And in the late afternoon, at home, we sang the birthday song and cut her cake.

Back in Melbourne

Written By: Tuen - Feb• 25•12

We arrived safely at Melbourne international airport yesterday morning. We are back to our usual routine already, and I’m posting this whilst sitting in the car waiting for Jerome to finish his school sports.

Thanks to all who made our Singapore visit a memorable and comfortable experience.
